cool story, but really i think the way to go is getting to the point where they clone body parts(not whole people)

lol anyway is kinda reminds me of a sci fi show where with some cells, the doctor was able to grow a whole new spin.
of couse wiring it in would be a different story , but anyway.

how do you feel about cloning of body parts?

I think its one of the best uses for cloning there is. Although, where will they get baby human heart cells from?

There are more people needing organ transplants than there are donor organs.

Now, if EVERYONE was required by law to donate their organs for transplant, there would no waiting list. But there isn't. Whether to donate or not is an option left up to the individual person.

I am completely in favour of stem cell research and cloning of body parts if it means saving lives.

It would also mean that we wouldn't see people having to live like this:

The batteries have to be changed faithfully every 4 hours, even during the night for the rest of his life or until he receives a heart transplant.

I'm all for the cloning of limbs and organs. Just from reading the article it has potential, especially if they can "perfect" it. I don't see it as "playing God" at all. If the technology will be there to save lives then use it.

On a lighter note I wonder if they can clone me a whole new body, this one is pretty much shot.

I wouldn't count on the back operation if the government ever runs health care.
