Took him in and he is infected

They said they hardly ever see anything like this..he has no stitch so they gave him an antibiotic and said it should clear it up ..if not they will have to go in and surgically repair it

They said it is the fatty tissue that surrounds the testical that got infected. Normally it just scabs over like his other side but this one did not for some reason

Thanks everyone for you replies..now just send Cricket some healing vibes

I haven't been online at TCS for the past week except for a short time the other day so I'm late in reading this, but I agree with the others. I have had plenty of male cats neutered in my time, and have never seen anything like that. I'm glad that you took your poor guy back in, and I hope that he'll heal well!

to Cricket!

hey thanks everyone who has still been replying here for Cricket..

UPDATE:

He is healing better but it seems to be slow going..it has been 11 days now on the antibiotic and it looks very scabby.

Here is what it looks like today:

If you compare the pics it does look better even though it still does not look normal yet..right?

Note from Cricket:
Please help my furmamma.... I am tired of her taking pictures of my privates!

Healing vibes for Cricket

It does look better, but if you have finished this round of antibiotics you might want to take Cricket back to the vet to see if he needs an additional week or so on antibiotics. Sometimes the first round doesn't quite do the job.

Yes good rule of thought there...\t
Not only that, but for his worrisome, worry wort furmamma
, to hear the vet say "yes this is healing now"
is worth millions
