I think my kitty Ruby is in heat (she's 10 months old). She is constantly making little noises and whenever you go near her she rolls over and over.

We are unfortunately due to go on holiday next week so we wont be able to get her spayed until we get back in around 2 - 3 weeks.

My question really is that once we have her spayed do we have to do any kind of after care. I work Tuesday - Thursday and would be worried about leaving her on her own.

Any help would be appreciated.

They recover pretty quickly from neuter/spay, most important is a comfy sleep place, fresh water and keep an eye for over lethargic or signs of complications, but this is rare. Until then, giving her full body strokes from head to tail and be sure to keep her litter clean helps. They have a tendency to drink and urinate more when in heat, keeping litter clean decreases chances of spraying. Hopefully she won't be in heat while you are away because the worst for them during this is to be alone.
