That is the feeling I got also Sarah.

If I were a victim of a crime it would be horrendous, but if the perp was here illegaly, it would make it that much worse. If that makes me a bad person, so be it, I am human. When a guy has been deported THREE times and is back doing horrible things, well there is just no excuse for it.
I hope this time we keep him, keep him in prison for life with no parole EVER.

I know it's also the feeling you got, as evidenced by your previous post. But my casting aspersions on questionable statistics has not a whit to do with what I think about people in America being murdered. I'm not one of those who judges people guilty before proven innocent - in particular based upon their immigration status or any other irrelevant factor. Murder is murder, and a dreadful and obscene crime no matter who commits it.

You know what I'm like about numbers. If they're just plain made up, I'm gonna bite.

I am an American, and I care about Americans first. And maybe our politicians should begin to do the same. If it offends anyone that I would care more about the kids on my block being victimized by a pervert, so be it. If the rest of the world doesn't like it, I don't care. I don't like to hear about any children being victimized, period. But we have enough perverts, murderers & rapists here as it is, why would it offend ANYONE if we don't want to accept the rest of the world's trash?

The whole idea of "anchor babies" is ridiculous. Children born in the U.S. to (a) U.S. citizen(s) or to legal aliens should have automatic citizenship, but not those born to "undocumented aliens".

They're overstretched though, Bruce, with the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I just don't see how it's possible to prevent illegal immigration. Here in Arizona the new employer sanctions law (article) went into effect January 1. Supposedly many Illegals have self-deported or left the state. Unfortunately there is no requirement for businesses to check all of their current employees through E-Verify.

I have heard the argument that if Illegals can't get jobs they'll just turn to crime and I guess it's a possibility that some will but we can't just give up and do nothing because of what might happen.

"The court records indicate that as police closed in on him, the man suspected of stalking and raping young girls in Chandler since June 2006 didn't explain to his wife why the family needed to run..

The family had to head to Mexico immediately, Batiz Aceves reportedly told his wife. Later, he suggested they and their young children faced deportation, the records show.

With his wife, her 7-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter in tow, Batiz Aceves made one last-ditch effort on Friday morning to get away, according to the documents. The couple stopped at a bank to withdraw more than $5,700 in cash and returned to their Chandler apartment to finalize plans. That's when police detectives arrived."

Anybody of the opinion that he might not be guilty?

So until then you don't have an opinion? Yes, he'll have his day in court but innocent people don't usually run. At least that's MY opinion. Whether he will be convicted or not remains to be seen.
