My kitty Meekin who is now almost 2 years old use to be such a sweet cuddling cat, now you can't touch her without her biting and being sassy. She use to sleep with me every night now she doesn't even lay on the bed. I am very busy with school and work so maybe that has impacted her behavior? I was always busy before though too? I need some sort of explanation. It's so sad, she was so sweet and now it's just like shes a teenager! haha. HELP!!

Cats do become socially mature at around 2 years old so part of it might be that. I don't know though. I'd definately not force petting etc. on her if she doesn't want it. It'll only make her crankier.

SO I should just let her be? Her personality was a big lover at first and now shes ms.independent. Do I just wait it out and see?

Has she been to the vet recently? Sudden behavior changes can be brought on by health issues sometimes. You might want to take her in just to be sure she isn't sick or in pain. They can definately get grouchy if they aren't feeling good.

I agree with taterbug. Have the cat checked! Oh and if you notice it is only in certain areas, make sure the cat doesn't have knots in its fur that is pulling at the skin.

yep shes been to the vet, and she is perfect they say. It may just be her personality. today I came home from a two day overnight trip for work and she was so sweet and cuddly but she may just becoming independent like her mom. hahaha. (me). I just wondered if it was something I did or am doing?

I agree. I do not think you are doing anything to make your cat act the way she does. Let her make the first moves and just follow.
