I just brought Jassie and Macy home from being spayed this morning. They both seemed a bit traumatized at first, but are finally resting comfortably. I am noticing that Macy is breathing very rapidly. Her little body is moving up and down so fast! Is this normal? I may be overreacting but I thought I'd ask the more experienced!!!!

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
I'm so glad they were able to spay both of your girls.

About the rapid breathing - I haven't experienced this after a surgery, so I don't know what it means. I do know our Spooky breathes very rapidly sometimes when she's stressed out.

If the vet has evening hours, I would give them a shout.

I *think* thats something with the anesthesia, but the best way to know for sure is to call the vet!

The rapid breathing stopped, poor Macy, she was quite was stressed!! They are both recovering so well!! They are eating, playing a bit, but not overdoing it, and of course...sleeping.
On a different note...the cat tree we got them was delivered today...probably not the best time to show it to them, huh? How long do I have to wait??
