If it weren't Friday -- the day we make a point of having a special (read: not "everyday") meal -- I'd be on my way over to your place RIGHT NOW. Beef barley soup is one of my favourite things in the whole world -- real comfort food!

However, we will eat yummy tonight, nonetheless, as it's our turn for Yosemite Chicken. Not sure about veg yet -- it will depend what looks nice, but I'm thinking it might be garlic spinach. Jasmine Rice for starch. Not sure about dessert -- I have some nice mangoes I might do something with...

I asked John what we're having and found out that I have the following choices:

1. half of a leftover Wendy's cheeseburger that's been in the fridge since last night.
2. half of a leftover Penn Station sub that's been on John's desk, then in his work fridge, then in the car with him for an hour.
3. pizza hut pizza.
4. ramen noodles.

I think I'm making the ramen!

We didn't eat until later than normal so we pulled some home-made chili out of the freezer and nuked it. I crockpot about 6qts of chili or bean soup or cheesy chicken and broccoli soup at a time and freeze individual portions just for nights like this

Corn chip crusted schnitzels, guacamole & herb bread.

Dip schnitzels in flour, egg then crushed up plain corn chips. Cover in foil, bake for 15 mins on 150c. Uncover and bake for a further 10-15 mins at the same temp. On top of your schnitzels ad a stripe each of sour cream, chunky salsa and mushed up avocado.

How simple? *drools*
