Of course I know this is going to differ with each cat. I have a very picky 3 year old Siberian who is on Science Diet Hairball, he loves it and won't eat anything else. I also have a 1 year old domestic shorthair that I want to switch over to adult food (eating Kitten Chow now). I know the foods I am feeding currently are not very good quality foods, which is why I want to switch and have tried in the past. The 1 yr old is less picky but he really likes the SD too. Is there any good (or better than what I am feeding) foods out there that are known to be really good tasting? We also feed wet food (just a tablespoon 3x a day). Here is what we have tried so far --Wellness (Salmon, Chicken and CORE), Serenghetti (grain free), Natures Variety (grain free), By Nature organics, Purina one, I think there may be a few more! I feel like I have tried a lot so that is why I'm asking here. Like I said, I know each cat is different but I am at a loss. Any suggestions on what to try?

I have found that when I switch dry foods, my one cat loves it but only for a few days. The more its good for her and a recommended brand the more she hates it. Currently her favorites are Purina One and Purina Naturals. She tolerates Chicken Soup for the Soul but I expect that to end shortly. Her real favorite is Meow Mix, but I won't give it to her. I try to buy small packages, and when she won't finish it I give them to my daughter for her cat. I wish I could keep her on the same brand all the time. My other cat really only likes wet food.

Thanks so far for the advice. Any input on Max Cat? I was reading that is was developed for finicky cats. I would really just love to get them on a decent food that they both will eat. I think too, that the lower quality foods are the ones that will tast the best...like us and fast food!!!!!

I was going to suggest max cat ... it is a premium ... it depends what you want to avoid ... it has lots of flavor but also has wheat

I fed Max Cat before all of the recall trouble. It was very popular with Cosmo, though it is a bit grain heavy. They are enjoying Solid Gold at this time. I had been feeding California Natural until they switched to a mixture with white rice which lowered the fiber amount. There are lots of premium dry food to choose from. The hardest is finding what works for YOUR kitty. Good Luck!!

Obviously I haven't tasted it but both Nutro Max and natural choice have a strong smell. Jack preferred both over Purina One, while switching he picked the nutro out and left the purina

Thanks for all the help. I bought a bag of Max cat last night. I added it to the other food. This morning it looks like all of the Max cat was picked out and eaten! Though I'm not sure which cat ate it!!! Hopefully this will be the right food for us. It may have a few more grains than I'd like but it is way better than SD or kitten chow. Thanks again.

PS, I was worried about the fact it was involved in the recall too, but it seems like Nutro is doing a good job and getting back on track...right?
