lol, oops i did not mean to wake you.

We lost power at work, now for data center that is bad.
sure we have UPS, big one as a matter of fact, and a couple of generators. But no one has checked the load on them in long time.

So power goes off generators kick in, i am watching the load on the UPS and the numnbers dont match. we hvae about a 60 min at the load that is on the UPS.

lol not going to work out very well. SO i start calling the the Head admin for each system, Unix, PC, Mail , SAP, NEtworking. get them all the phone to see what systems cant be shut down, which cant.... then..

the power comes back on

that stinks!!! if it goes out again you could always just do what i do and kick the source of the issue that usually helps, at least if it doesn't fix the problem- it makes you feel better

lol i dont think i can get away with kicking the power company heeh. we got some really strong winds here tonight , its causing power line issues. lol

the transformer right down the street from us is on fire. lol going to be a fun night

oh, well....maybe not

sounds like ohio is getting nasty weather like we've got today! We had a tornado watch most of the evening and just some nasty, nasty weather.

I don't envy you...BUT, you seem much smarter than the people working at our operations center. They probably would have waited until the UPS failed before calling anyone.
