I've read through a thread in here re: obtaining samples from Pet Food Company and gave it a try. The response was overwhelming and most of all I've contacted are more than happy to send me samples of their products.

I urge everyone else to write in and request for a sample before committing to purchasing any new cat food for your feline companions. My little Lucy Belle is not very finicky about her food since I start feeding her a variety of food after weaning. She does however have develop a habit of not eating leftover food from the fridge, even after heating it up. *Sigh* What a clever kitty she is!

Anyway, just to say that I am really impressed with the response from the companies I wrote in to.

Many of them send samples to pet stores that have them if you ask. Mine will also 'make' a sample bag from a regular bag they have in store if they know you and you want to try a food they know you haven't bought before.

It is so much easier to obtain a sample of dry food compared to wet or semi moist. Little Lucy has developed a habit of not eating certain brands leftover food from the fridge but will others. Since I have stocked up a few different ones, I have to discard many leftovers and it's just insane to throw away good food. I am now making notes of the brands that she will eat and what she will not, so obtaining samples and testing them on her first will ensure no more waste.
