He was being treated for 4 days, tops. The meds take 6 weeks of treatment, sometimes 8 weeks. And ringworm always gets worse before it gets better. But man, this is wwwaaayyy worse than I've ever seen it get...and so fast!

We have vet confirmation that it is NOT ringworm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has allergies. Got a Depo shot, panalog on sores 2x a day, & oral anti-biotics. Once these clear up, if he starts to relapse, he'll need to be on Pred pills. Which costs like $5 a month, if that!

Now to get rid of those sores so maybe someone will adopt him!

Since it's winter, I wonder if it's a food allergy, or something he was treated with for fleas, worms, etc.?

He was frontline 5 weeks ago, this just showed up last week. He hasn't got any fleas....that was one thing the vet thoroughly checked him for. We got a different type of blanket that we used in his cage, I considered that it had been that. We also switched him to SD i/d food from the Purina adult because he had loose stools.

When I saw that pic of him side on I thought of my dog April many years ago when she had flea alergy. At the time I was trying different diets & omega supplements. The vet gave her cortisone shots, which worked until they wore off. He also gave me an iodine lotion that I was to dilute 10/1. It cleared up the weepy, crusty sores she had at different times. Spot-ons were reasonable new at the time, but once I discoved them, she hasn't had the problem since.
I'm so glad he can now start to heal.

That's wonderful news, Nat -- a real answer, and something that can be dealt with. Scritches for your sweet boy, and many
to you for all the love and care you give these sweeties. that the treatment is effective QUICKLY.

I'm hoping it's something simple & silly. I'd still like to place him somewhere, indoors....otherwise he'll have to become a farm kitty.

Oh & he met Ophelia. I don't think she's ever had her bum kicked before!

Im glad its not mange or roundworms!! I guess just being allergies is good news, just as long as you can figure out what it is that he's allergic too!!!

I bet Ophilia was a little disapointed to get her butt whooped!!! It always comes as a shocker to them!
