Hi! I'm new to this forum and to owning a kitty. I adpoted Jessie from Castaway Critters and they told me she might be a Turkish Van. Does anyone know anything about that breed you could share with me? Jessie is 8 months old, all white with a black/ smokey spot on her head. My aunt has had cats since before i can remember, so I've been around cats my whole life. I've never seen anything like Jessie.

Welcome!! Vans are beautiful! They generally just have color on their heads and tails. I had a foster once that I believed to have some Van blood, his coat was incredibly soft, like cashmere as the breed discription says, and he had the coloration. I"ve never felt another coat like his.

I checked out the link you provided. Jessie is not quite as furry as the cats pictured, but her fur does feel as soft as cashmere.
