Good Friday to everyone my dear friends..
I hope the cold wheather don´t be so bad with you in your place!..
...

Which one song is stuck in your head this week?....share with us the song stuck in you head this week my friends!
...

For me was:

BY SIMPLY RED, song: "Fairground"

Driving down an endless road
Taking friends or moving alone
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

It's always friends that feel so good
Let's make amends like all good men should
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

Walk around, be free and roam
There's always someone leaving alone
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

And I love the thought of coming home to you
Even if I know we can't make it
I love the thought of giving hope to you
Just a little ray of light shining through

Love can bend and breathe alone
Until the end it finds you a home
Don't care what the people may say

It's always friends that feel so good
Let's make amends like all good men should
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

And I love the thought of coming home to you
Even if I know we can't make it
I love the thought of giving hope to you
Just a little ray of light shining through

What about you my friends?

That Fairground song is one of my faves!

I've had the White Stripes "Hardest Button to Button" stuck in my head today.

I've been humming an old, old song called "Blue Skirt Waltz," because it's my favorite of the songs my parents used to sing together when they had their own radio show back in the late '40s. It's on my mind because tomorrow is their 65th -- yes, SIXTY-FIFTH -- anniversary!

They were married in Denton, just a few miles northwest of here, where my father was taking helicopter training at the time. He proposed to her by telegram and Mom rode down from Ohio on the train. They'd only met twice before!

So tomorrow, my brother and nephew and I are driving them up to Denton to visit the courthouse where they were married and the old house where they rented a room as their first home. Then we'll take them to lunch at a famous restaurant called The Greenhouse, which is just a few doors down from where they lived.

I wish you could hear my folks sing this song! My father played guitar and they both sang so well... they have beautiful voices to this day...

I dream of that night with you
Lady, when first we met
We danced in a world of blue
How can my heart forget?
Blue were your eyes
And blue were the skies
Just like the blue skirt you wore
Come back, blue lady, come back
Don't be blue anymore

65 years ago. Can you imagine being married for almost two-thirds of a century?
