I wish I had found this site a long time ago! Just want to introduce myself and my feline family.
Coa- (short for cat on acid) 4 yrs old -male- Coa is a black tuxedo cat, he is the alpha cat in the house who has to constantly remind everyone! As a kitten, he used to attack "things" in the air--that weren't there! That is how he got his name, thinking that somehow he was exposed? Coa, I believe has some siamese in him, he has their temperament. Since he has been neutered, he does not like the females, and he only tolerates me! He prefers to be out in the garage with dad.
Callie- 7 yrs old - The oldest female, and the Queen! Callie is a, you guessed it, a callico, she has a split face, one side being yellow and the other black with a very distinct, straight line down the center of her face and nose. Very loving, but prefers not to be bothered by male cats. She finds them rude!
Runtie- 2 yrs old -male- There was an outside cat in the neighborhood that had kittens and the momma cat used to get under the porch of our house. It was Jan, and very cold, I found Runtie on my porch, shaking, obviously a runt and he was cold and hungry. He has been apart of the family ever since. He to is a black tuxedo cat, unrelated to Coa, Runtie is quite the loving cat. Somewhat passive-aggressive towards a couple of the other cats. Oh well, he thinks he getting something over on Coa all the time!
Bebe- 2 1/2 yrs old -Male- Bebe adopted me shortly before Runtie came around. This cute little gray and white tabby just showed up on my door step and informed me of the finalization of the adoption! Bebe, we believe is possibly one brick short of a block? But he is very loving, and is the only cat that waits for me at bedtime, as he has to sleep right next to me. We have a nightly ritual. He is very shy, and prefers if other humans did not come over.
And Last is Secret- 5 months old -female- I was at church parking lot, which is adjacent to the cemetary.... it was raining and getting colder out. This scrawny kitten was meowing, and rubbing all over anyone who would let it get near. I was getting ready to leave and this kitten was under my car trying to stay dry. I was informed that this kitten had been hanging around for approx a week. Well, I couldn't just leave this boney kitten all by itself on that rainy evening! After getting her home, I realized that this kitten was quite sickly, very thin, and she didn't eat much. Then I noticed that she would have episodes of being out of breath, even to the point of her lips turning blue. So, after her first vet visit, I was informed that she had a diaphramatic hernia, or her stomach, liver and intestines were pushed up into her chest cavity. I was given three choices.... 1) put her to sleep 2) take her home and let her live out whatever time she had left, but I was also told that she would eventually suffocate to death. or 3) Surgery. All I can say is that I am glad my husband wasn't with me at that visit. He would never had agreed to the surgery.
So now Secret came through the extensive surgery, even with her chances of less than 50%. She is doing great!!! Thanks to the super Vet we have!
That other two "children" I have living with me are of the canine kingdom,
1) Trevia a 7 year old Min Pin
2) Bear a 4 year old lab/chow/?/? something mix
All of the above animals have been strays other than Coa. Coa was supposed to my lap cat!!!
Thanks for letting me ramble on about my kiddies, look forward to getting to know ya all.
