Well, as I posted in another thread I'm getting a new horse this weekend. Here's a link to the other thread if you haven't read it: http://thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153012

His current name I'm told is Jake AKA Legend. I'm assuming that Legend is what's on his papers and Jake is his call name. I like the name Jake but it brings back sad memories of a dog I used to have named Jake. And I want to give this guy a new start with a new name. We've got a list of names, and I'm making a poll. Please vote and help name him! Here's the picture I have of him:

Rio is my choice, though Reno is a great name, it is also the name of the QH mare we had when I was a toddler.

Whatever name you choose, he looks to be quite beautifully marked.
Is he bay or a bay dun?
I always distrust my monitor on true colors.

I like Rio - some of the others might make him behave bad
John came home today and handed me the $50 to give the lady for gas.

Not trying to be a smart-aleck, know it all or anything, but if you are planning on making him a pleasure horse, make sure he isn't as cow-hocked in person as he seems to be in the photo.
That could really cause some problems down the road.

I'll definitely have to check that out in person but she sent me one other picture of him and he didn't look as bad in the second picture.

I voted Maverick, but like Reno too. What are you going to do with him?
I don't have any special plans for him yet, probably just riding him around the property and doing a little trail riding. We'll see how he does and go from there.

I'm soooo excited. He'll be here sometime between late morning and early afternoon tomorrow. I guarantee I won't be able to sleep tonight!

Please send vibes that he gets here safely and that everything goes as planned!

Well, he won't be here today after all. One of her other horses fell through ice on a pond yesterday and she has to tend to him. No clue when/if she'll be able to come up now.

I vote for Reno because when we stopped there on our way to CO, I started playing blackjack at 10 pm with $100. I played until my initial "investment" ran out. That was at 9 am the next day. Hubby had long since gone to sleep.
Anyway, fodder costs money and, well, you know, Reno.

By the way, that was the first time I had ever been to a casino to gamble.

Just a little update: The lady was unable to come up last weekend, but she emailed me this morning and provided nothing comes up she will be here with him on Sunday!

Have you decided on a name?
We had a nice little mustang for a while, his name was sundance. I used to sing mustang sunny (instead of sally) to him, LOL!

He looks so dirty, and had burdox in him, but he was still so cute!
