I just found poop outside of the litter box (far from the box) covered with litter. This has happened once before, but it was right outside of the box, so it made more sense. I'm scratching my head right now. Anyone have a clue?

Does anyone in your home have shoulder length or longer hair? Sometimes kitties ingest this, and if they don't completely pass the hair, the poop can get "stuck" to the hair that hasn't been completely passed.... and thus not stay in the box when the cat leaves, but litter will stick to it.... and it will come off when they run around to get it off.

I have really long hair - thus I knew the answer to your question,

Vacuum a lot.

Other than that - keep an eye out for a kitty running around freaking out and help her!

It doesn't happen very often around here. Sometimes I see a kitty going nuts trying to groom their butt - and now I know that it's because there's a hair that didn't completely pass. I just pull it out, throw it away, and WASH MY HANDS

Seriously - vacuuming a lot should do the trick. Also, when I brush my hair before I shower, I do it in the shower. And if I blow dry my hair, I do it with the bathroom door closed and then use a hand vac before I open the door.
