I usually just have toast for breakfast and my lunches
and dinners vary each day but i snack on baby carrots,
apples or celery and sometimes i'll eat a small salad.

Lately i have been eating WW Smart Ones dinners
for supper,they are really good.
I no longer count points,i just cut my
portion sizes way down.

I didn't buy mine - I borrowed it from my sister, who borrowed it from her boyfriend's mother.
But I see them for sale at the WW meetings.

But it is better to try the library - you can photocopy the recipes you like at a fraction of the price.

I've been eating cream of wheat or oatmeal for breakfast. In the summer I usually eat cold cereal or yogurt and fruit.

For lunch, I used to bring a big salad with one of the Smart Ones or Lean Cuisine entrees, but I've just been diagnosed with high blood pressure and I have to cut back on my salt.
So now I'm making something at the beginning of the week to have with my salad. This week it's a stir fry with a ton of veggies, some rice, and a little chicken.

For dinner, I have a ton of the WW cookbooks, so I make a lot of recipes from them. I try to make at least one new thing every week. Tonight I'm making an orzo with broccoli recipe.

For snacks, microwave fat free (now low salt
) popcorn, fruit, celery, baby carrots, string cheese, and lowfat ice cream bars.

I don't usually buy the WW stuff like the shakes, but when I do I pick them up at my meeting.

Well, it was weigh day for me again. Down another 2 lbs. So that's 6 lbs in 2 weeks and both weeks ai went over ALL my points (daily and weekly). This time I was only over 3points so my goal for this week is to NOT go over my points.
**hope you don't mind me using this thread to stay accountable.**

So, how's everyone else doing? Chelle, have you been on a scale lately?

I weighed in for the first time yesterday & got the WW Member kit with all the goodies. Also bought a box of smoothies and some sweet & salty snacks. Went 2.5 over my points yesterday, but we also went out to eat, so I think I did pretty well!

Is that 2.5 over your daily? That's no bad at all... especially considering you went out to eat. That's when I have the hardest time.

That's great! I love a good big salad but the trick to big salads is to avoid all the "extras". Sure a salad sounds healthy until you pile on cheese, bacon, croutons and dressing.

I've got lunch plans for MLK day with a friend who's also doing WW. Our original plan was to go to a wing place that's got a drink special. It's called the "fuel tanker" and it's a 100oz. mini keg type thing that they bring to the table. Except 50 oz of beer and wings won't be good for my points or hers so I might suggest we go to Applebee's instead.

I get 26, which seems like an awful lot! But I plan on it going down.

Today I got too hungry at lunch, which is bad, and I ate a bowl of homemade soup which was about 3 points. When I got done, I was still hungry, but I rinsed out my bowl and had some water, and an apple and an orange. So now I'm NOT hungry!

We had our meeting yesterday, and our leader read out of a book an inspirational thing which had 2 things I liked: 1) actually visualize yourself doing something when you have lost your weight that you can't do now, and 2) commit for a year. So I've got my visualization & I'm committed.

It was from the WW cookbook.

1 cup salsa (I used one with pineapple)
3 - 4 chicken breasts
cilantro - about 1/2 tsp
lemon peel- about 1/2 tsp
about 1/4 cup chopped onions & peppers

Marinate everything in a big bag in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Take out the chicken breasts and put in a pan sprayed with non stick spray. Cook until done through (turning once.) Put the rest of the marinade into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then just keep warm. When the chicken is done, cut into strips and add to the marinade in the saucepan. Heat up again and eat.

The cookbook says to put it over steamed cabbage, but I just used asian veggies. Cookbook also says 3 points per serving, but the chicken breasts I used were NUCLEAR so I gave myself 6 points.

What do you mean by NUCLEAR?

But this is a recipe I need to try out - I absolutely LOVE salsa!

I made a great snack...2 slices of Wasa bread (Whole grain) and 1 Laughing Cow babybel cheese, cut into slices on top, sprinkled with a little garlic salt, microwaved for about 10 seconds. 3 points.

Ahh gotcha! That snack sounds great - I discovered the laughing cow cheese at the supermarket, so I will have to try it out!

A lady at my WW meeting is a chef and said the more yellow the cheese, the more fat it has, and the more white it is, the less. She has lost 26kgs in a year (57lbs) so she is my inspiration!
