Free at last! Free at last...

Yes, it's over -- all my worldly possessions are out of the old apartment (where I haven't lived in over a year) and the pressure is off.

The one bright spot in this month of misery was the movers I hired at the last minute: Paul and Greg, both in their late forties, doing this kind of work for extra money. They both had the same silly sense of humor I do, and all the same points of cultural reference, so we had a wonderful conversation while we were working. We laughed the whole time!

We worked together for about ten hours over a two-day period, and when it was all done, we actually hugged goodbye. And as they left, I'm pleased to say that Greg paid me the very highest of Boomer-Generation compliments:

"Carol," he said, "you are a consistently groovy chick."

We already knew that. Congrats on this milestone. When I moved in with my hubby-to-be, I took forever to clean out my townhome so we could sell it. I remember the relief of having that all completed.

Moving sucks! I had to move 6 times in a 3-year time span (loooong story) and if I never have to do it again, it will be too soon for me!

Moving is rotten, I've lived here for over 7 years now and am really not looking forward to the day I finally move, moving out of my parent's house when I just had 1 room was bad enough!
