OK then I changed my mind
I have decided to never buy another throw rug, toss pillow, anything brass, glass or mirrors and anything that needs to be polished or shined, I am over the limit

Declutter and organize. That could take years.
Karen, I think we must be in the same spot in our lives right now, your resolutions struck a chord with me.

I'm going more general with mine. I want to be more positive, peaceful and productive.

My big one this year is to stop complaining [as much]. I noticed yesterday that I was complaining and being mean to people for not agreeing with me or for not doing their job. I can't control how other people do their job, but I can control how I respond to people. I have been trying to be less critical of people and be calmer for the last 6 months or so so I am just adding this on top.

That is something I wished more people realized and would work on. I am not judgemental when it comes to work. I also don't care what you do or don't do at work and I will NOT say mean things or talk behind your back. Knowing this, it angers me when others do that very same thing to me or to the point where I even get ignored. I have learned to just ignore them, and to never treat them the way they have treated me. It does not get you anywhere, but sometimes, I really wish people would realize what it can do to others and just try to remember that life is too short to complain about every little thing.

To pay my car off. For the last two years my DH and I have been getting out of debit, and the last thing I have to do is pay off my stupid car. After that I am debit free!

I've been exercising religiously since mid-October, so I plan to work on my changing my eating habits.

I have an appointment in mid-January, with a financial planner, to work on my retirement goals (even though it's still about 12 years away.)

I really need to de-clutter my home and throw away things that I haven't used in ages. I can't really say that's a New Year's Resolution though...maybe I'll rent a dumpster and a backhoe in the spring and clean out the basement!

Good for you! From what you wrote, if is obvious you have been paying cash with your debit card and not using your credit card.
Hope you are debt-free soon.

I'm not sure if there was already a thread on this, but what are your new years resolutions? Mine are to lose weight and get in shape, be happier and healthier, and get rid of old junk! Let me tell ya, I cleaned out my bathroom yesterday, and OMG I had 6 Garbage Bags full of crap! :O It was so obnoxious! I can't believe I was hoarding so much stuff! I feel so relieved to get rid of it all.
How about you?

This all sounds what I would make, if I made new year's resolutions. I'm over weight, need to get in shape & such a hoarder. I wish I could get rid of stuff, but its so hard.
