What's for dinner tonight everyone? It's a little early here, but i just started working on tonight's dinner, so it'll be a few hours!
I'm making some homemade chicken noodle soup- that just sounded really good tonight! I'm using boneless skinless chicken breasts, low sodium chicken broth, scallions, carrots, (i don't like them but i love the flavor it gives so i always cook with it!), celary, onion, garlic powder, basil, sage, herb de province, black peppercorn, spicy season salt, chili powder (just a pinch!), hosin sauce, nutmeg, asian five spice, and i'm sure there's a few other things i'm forgetting! I'm making some egg noodles to go with it. I normally add parsley and bay leaf to my soups, but i'm all out so i'm using other spices/herbs instead! I'm going to top everything off with a little asiago cheese and some garlic/herb crutons when it's done!
If i have some romaine left, i'll make a salad too.

Man, i'm starving already and it's still got several hours before it'll be done
What are the rest of you guys having for dinner tonight?

Hopefully something good. I am tired of leftovers and fast food.
DH & Mom haven't been in the mood to cook since Christmas.

Homemade soup sounds so yummy. We had a carrot & ginger soup for Christmas Day and I have been craving it since.

I usually go out to dinner with my parents on Friday night, and we usually go to Eat 'n Park (where I work on the weekends) but my mom hasn't called to confirm so I don't really know

I feel ya on the leftovers! I'm made a ham & cheese quiche out of my leftover ham last night- it was yummy
I was trying to "recycle" our leftovers as much as i could to get rid of them and make them better
I'm just about all out though (thankfully!) so tonight i'm cooking something different!

Now i'm still not sure what to do with all of the leftover desserts/sweet treats i don't need
I took some to share with my coworkers yesterday, but the others are screaming at me to eat them

I just use a little seasoning salt, garlic, salt & pepper. Nothing too much- just enough!

So far it's just been cheese and crackers and some frozen pineapple. I bought a pumello (citrus bigger than a grapefruit!) yesterday and it's just been sitting there on the counter ... waiting to be eaten.
It will take a few days to eat all of it since it's literally the size of my head, but I love these things.
My mum made some homemade turkey soup, so I might dip in there as well. We're all kind of sick of leftovers, so it's a "one for all" type of evening.

I'm sick so I made home made chicken dumpling/noodle soup too, though mine doesn't have as many spices as yours! But it's "double comfort" as my mom always says, because it has egg noodles AND dumplings. And with it, of course, buttered bread. Triple comfort, if you ask me.
I should be well in no time.

Carrot and ginger soup? That sounds so good, I read it and my mouth started watering....and I don't even know what it is! I love ginger. So, what is it?
