It's supposed to be a very safe antibiotic.
Here is some info, including possible side effects, so you'll know what to watch out for:
http://www.petplace.com/drug-library...lex/page1.aspx

(The Pill Book says side effects are rare at normal doses, but it lists gastrointestinal upset, including nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and diarrhea as possible side effects. It also says that Cephalexin can cause fever and vomiting in cats.)

Good luck, I hope your kitty will do all right without any problems.

Not sure the reaction difference between cats and humans, but it is also a commonly prescribed antibiotic for humans for treatment of UTI's, but in almost every woman i know who has taken it for UTI's, has gotten a yeast infection from taking the antibiotic. I know it is possible for dogs to get yeast infections for my mothers basset hound gets them alot. Like i said, i dont know if antibiotics can cause the same reaction in cats as they do in humans but it might be a question to ask a vet if it is possible.
