I did my boxing day shopping online on the evening of the 24th. I bought a brand new Canon Digital Rebel SLR camera with 8MP. It was $400 instead of $650 and it was just the camera I wanted! (and my old camera died just last week)
I also bought a 2GB memory card for the camera, for $20.
I can't wait to get my camera!!

It's a good thing some stores have their boxing day specials online, because there is no way I would be going out to the stores today. Somehow, the idea of being trampled and waiting in line for hours doesn't appeal to me.

Plus, I'm sick. So that's another reason to stay home today.

So have a nice day everyone. And if you go shopping, please tell someone where you're going so if they don't hear from you by the end of the day, they can send a search party.

Good luck!

Hey guys!

I'm not heading near any retail stores! All my Christmas money is designated to finishing off the necessities of my china pattern before it's discontinued next month! I do need a few groceries I think....but if I can do without them, that would be great!

I just put a call in to my new boss a few minutes ago for my start date. He wasn't in at the moment, but I left a message. So another reason I'm not leaving the house any time soon!

At the risk of sounding stupid....What does Boxing Day mean or stand for?

Wednesday is my normal day off, but many people take a vacation day on the 26th, just to cash in on the after Christmas sales. I'm with MoochNNoodles on this one....I'm not going anywhere near the retail craziness today! Maybe not for the next week or so! I may surf around and see what kind of deals I can find on-line...never thought of that!

Happy Boxing Day to my Canadian neighbors!!!

Well the sales sounds like our Black Friday. Other than that I dunno know.

Well Mom is going crazy wanting to clean this second and not a second later.
I woke up with Mom screaming about the recycling and trash going out. She told us it was Thursday and it was today instead. So it's been a crazy wild morning so far.

Hopefully later we can relax and watch movies!

Happy Boxing Day!

Yup, my daughter headed out early this morning to hit the mall - haven't heard from her! Maybe I should send out a search party!
I tidied up this morning from the onslaught yesterday and sorted all the recycling - not going anywhere near stores today, I'm not brave enough!
Happy Boxing Day all!

Evening All!

Back to work for me today. I did manage to get into a couple stores to look for sales after work. The new Fields store was doing Women's Clothing for 2-4-1. I got several pairs of comfy track pants and a couple of t-shirts for lounging around at home.

They also had there pets toys on for 1/2 price. Like my guys needed anymore toys after Christmas but they got some anyway.

Everyone have a good evening

I got a Sony Walkman MP3 player for Christmas and have no clue how to use it!
I just hooked it up to the computer and will have to start loading some of my CD's onto it.

You would think I got enough stuff for Christmas!! Picked up something for my next years SS already!!!

Had to leave before the traffic got too busy.

This seems to be the accepted explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_day

Today was a public holiday in Germany, where I live, so all stores were closed. I managed to come down with a cold yesterday, and we got a bit of snow this afternoon, which I attempted to clear. As a result, my Boxing Day has consisted of 1) lots of sneezing and coughing, 2) nursing my sore arm (bursitis), and 3) staying off my feet, as I slipped outside, spent a couple of hours waiting in the ER for X-rays, and now have a badly sprained ankle that's just plain sore.
Oh, well. The good news is, I have a couple of good excuses to be lazy and get a lot of reading in!
