I'm typing on my Wii, so if there are many spelling mistakes please forgive me.

Last night DH and I saw Juno as our Christmas movie. This film takes us on an adventure with a 16 year old girl who finds herself "with child". As she wise cracks her way through the entire process we find that she is masking her fear, dealing with things beyond her age level, and finding out who she is.

This film does a lot of things well. The script and casting is spot on, it's believable, and it doesn't give a "rosy" picture of a young girl having a baby.

However, it doesn't totally live up to it's hype. Trust me it's a good movie, but with all the teen pregnancy information in the news lately with Jamie Lynn Spears it didn't hit all the right cords with me.

Also, as a side note this film is neither Pro-life or Pro-choice.

It is a tender love movie at it's very core. I have a feeling a lot of people who wouldn't think they'd like it will end up loving it.

Thanks for the reviews! John saw the previews and kept telling me he wanted to see it. When I finally saw the previews as well, I agreed with him that I'd like to see it.

Now that I'm at work I call fill you in on some other areas of the film. What this movie does very well is that it's honest. It shows the life of a pregnant 16 year old girl as being filled with difficult decisions and that her peers treat her like she's from a different planet. But, the best part of the whole film is that it addresses the aspect that when a girl that age is pregnant she's stuck in-between an adult and child's world. She's being asked to make decisions that are far beyond her emotional maturity. Juno gets that.

Under the cats, mostly.
Thanks for the review - I think it's a good thing that they've made a movie like that. I'm firmly of the opinion (having been there and done that) that more young girls need to have a really good shake-up to reality.

Just saw Juno today with my daughter. We loved it! Besides the teenage pregnant girl who makes the tough decisions, the movie is sooo funny. It is definitely one of the best films of 2007. Two thumbs up!
