Cupcake icing question...

I am making cupcakes to give to our neighbor, the yellow/vanilla ones are done and I am about to bake the chocolate ones, I will be icing them to with butter cream icing.

BUT

Do I use vanilla icing with the vanilla cup cakes or chocolate icing with them
and do I use vanilla icing on the chocolate cakes or chocolate icing?

I think chocolate and vanilla are the best combination!

I'm not the best one to eat, because I'm not crazy about chocolate. My favorite is white with vanilla icing.

I like all the combos....but....chocolate on chocolate is always the favorite here! Now I want one!!!

IMO I'd switch the cupcake and the frosting - white on chocolate cupcake - chocolate on white/yellow cupcake

For me, most chocolate frosting is a little lacking -- maybe because we're all spoiled by great chocolate candies. So I vote vanilla frosting on chocolate cupcakes!

I say switch and do some the same, too.

I adore chocolate, but not in cupcakes, for some reason. If you have the buttercream frosting, I saw do vanilla on vanilla. That's my favorite.

My chocolate cupcakes didnt turn out too well (serves me right for trying a new recipe), so I am opting to give the vanilla cupcakes as the gifts some with chocolate and some with vanilla icing and ill psot the pictures tomorro because I am impressed with them!
