I'm not new.. but these two I'm introducing are!!!

I've had them a couple of weeks now, and now I have finally gotten around to introducing them. After suddenly losing my first ever kitty, beautiful little Nina, to devastating FIP, the loneliness and grief was killing me, so I decided to open my home to these two. Trying to open my heart again has been A LOT harder then I expected because I miss Nina tons!! But these two are definitely helping!!

Meet Snow.. a domestic medium-long hair, she's pure white, except for some stray gray hairs on her forehead that are hard to see.. she has greennish yellow eyes. She was found with her littlermates and her gorgeous gray/white mother in some bushes.. I've seen some of her littlermates, and they are really gorgeous! She's about 6 months, but really tiny (3 pounds). She has not been spayed yet b/c she been struggling with on again, off again diaherra.. hopefully she stays strong! She loves to eat, that's for sure! She's really sweet.. the first night I had her, she slept on my face/head... at least now, she sleeps on my pillow right above my head. She's really outgoing and not scared at all in new places, and definitely a lap kitty..

Meet Audrey.. a maine coon mix, she has the softest fur and beautiful big green eyes that everyone is drawn too. She was found in an apt. parking lot along with her sister. She is also about 6 months old (5.6 pounds) and extremely playful! She will wear herself out with the feather toy.. and I think if I don't take it away she would play with it forever... she pants when she's done!! When I first got her she was scared, but once she knows her surroundings (which took a couple of hours) you see the amazing personality she has!! She always greet meet at the door with a chirping, cooing noise (which is supposedly characteristic of maine coons) and loves to lick!! It's so cute!! Also she rolls over on her stomach which is so hilarious! Often she play-attacks Snow when she's sleeping and I don't think she likes it that much.. It's funny because both Snow and I will stare at her like she's crazy when she's attacking the invisible beasts that come out of the carpet!! lol!

After losing Nina, I have taken these two in, but on a fostering basis. I am currently fostering both, and then hope to keep one of them.. I really, really, wish I could keep them both next year will be crazy for me and I know I won't be able to give both of them the attention they need (and Audrey needs a lot of attention.. lol). It's been hard because I don't know who I want to keep because I like them both. However for as long as I can, which is about until the end of the coming up summer, I am going to foster them both, unless of course they find their forever homes!!
It will be hard giving them up.. Right now I'm thinking I will probably keep Snow, because I think Audrey would do better in a family type environment where she could get tons of attention.. But it's hard to decide because everyone always comes to my place and says how beautiful they think Snow is, but leave saying I should keep Audrey because of her amazing personality.. I guess we'll see.. but until the time comes.. Snow and Audrey are my new two little kitties!!

Awww! They are soo cute! Whitecatlover will fall to pieces over Snow

Here's something, though: Two cats can be just as easy to take care of as one cat. That's because they entertain each other more, which means you have to entertain them less. Food and litter box take about the same time. It's only the vet bills that are really different.

Maybe you can keep 'em both? I sure couldn't choose!!

I found this was the case with Greta and Misty. Greta is a lot more active now that Misty joined the family and seems happy to have her around and there was not really anything more for me to do having two verse one cat. They keep each other occupied much of the time and still get their individual time with me when they want it.

Thanks for the comments! They are both really sweet and adorable!!

I definitely agree, "chorewise" it is the same whether you have one or two kitties (same number of bowls to fill and same number of litterbox to scoop).. so that is not that different.. and yes, in some ways it is better because when I'm at work etc.. I don't feel so bad because they have each other. But next year I start medical school and I know I won't be able to give both of them the affection and time they deserve..and since they are longhairs I feel bad if I don't brush them everyday.. and going to medical school will definitely put a dent on my finances, although I don't think it would make such a difference with one or two kitties, but having dealt with, and still dealing with both of them being sick at the same time... vet bills do add up along with time... (chasing around Snow to clean her poopy butt...and leaking diaherra around the house... and Audrey's sneezing fits where she sprayed boogers everywhere..wasn't something I minded this year..... but I know it might become too much next year)..

Also, I plan on rooming with a friend of mine that has a cat (although much older...13years).. and I think Snow (if she is who I keep) will have company with her... and Snow also has a more laid back personality and I don't have to worry about hiding all my flipflops (Audrey loves to chew them up).. lol...

Seriously, I have been beating myself up A LOT about this... and I am SUCH a sucker!! I know when I get older (now I'm just out of college), and get my own house I'll probably have tons of kitties... but I really feel like it would be the best to try to find a foster home, probably for Audrey because she seems like a family cat, while she's still young. I know I probably should not have brought them both home b/c now it's going to be hard to give one of them up.. Is this bad that I am doing this????!! I feel really bad, but at the same time I think it's the right decision...

Has anyone here ever been in a similar situation??

Congrats on fostering those two beautiful babies! I think you will know what to do when the time comes - probably someone perfect for one or the other will show up!

Elsa had 8 kittens and it was so hard to find good enough homes and let them go, but it did work out.

Aww, they are both beautiful.

You don't have an easy decision ahead of you.
