Chestnut has been sneezing this am (just a few times) and when he purrs it sounds all garggley. He's feeling so much better since his worm medicine, that I don't know if he's still not at a "normal" engergy level.

At what point do you think I shold call the vet. Please note that today is the last day they wil be open until 12/26.

Could you call the vet and get advice? If he's been in recently, they may be willing to discuss over the phone rather than have you bring him in for an appointment.

I actually had to stop by the vets office to pick up some medicine for the baterial infection Chestnut apparently has in his ears, and the vet pulled me into the back to discuss it with me and he feels that it is likey just drainage from his ears and just wants me to keep an eye on his breathing.

So in short, he wasn't concernd.

Thanks!

o good... please keep an eye on it though, closely.

I just lost a kitty to what the vet's initially thought was, "just a respiratory infection".

If he starts to breathe heavy take him to the kitty ER.

Aw dang, Saya, been there done that.

Sillyitiliangrl - watch to make sure he eats - stuffy noses often make for kitties with no appetite, and kitties with no appetite can get Hepatic Lipidosis. I've heard irrigating with saline or "baby noses" from Neo-Synepherine can help the stuffiness.

I'm glad the vet wasn't concerned.

While keeping an eye on his appetite, keep an eye on the sneezing too. If he sneezes out gunk, it's probably an upper respiratory. If he's just sneezing, it's probably as the vet said - just drainage.

Coco did that and she ended up with a Bad Cold with her Asthma acting up. She had that last Aug and in Dec 2005. The Meds worked fast though. I think the vet should have checked your Cat to make sure its ok.

He is doing great since I started the anti-biotic ear drops, he's not seenzing and he's not nearly as noisey when he purrs

Also, so everyone knows, eating is not a problem this little boy has! I think he'd eat himself sick if I'd let him!
