My name is Emily, I am 23 years old, a senior in college, have four cats, one house bunny (Mr. Rex Harrison), and not much free time
My cats are: Scully, who was rescued as a very young, extremely pregnant, malnourished, flea-infested stray a little over three years ago, Stephanie and Miko, her daughters, and Prince John, her son. She has another son, Schilling, who was adopted by a coworker and, like his siblings, is completely and totally spoiled
I absolutely ADORE our little family group. They have been a blessing and joy to our family, and my parents and younger sibs are not going to be happy come the day I move out and take them with me
I run the Domestic Zoo; my parents have always supported my love of animals, and we've shared our home with ferrets and geese and rats and fish and nearly everything in between
But within just these past few months, we've gone from nine companions to five. Peanut, our mini-lop rabbit and Rex's closest companion, had to be put to sleep in late September. Beeper, our eighteen year old semi-feral kitty, had a stroke and died less than two weeks later. Then both of our Mousey Boys succumbed to old age, passing peacfully in their sleep within a week of each other. It's been a rough year for us at the zoo.
Anyway, it's great to be here, and I look forward to getting to know some fellow cat lovers
