A pregnant stray has been hanging around our garage and our back door. As soft hearted as my husband and I are we fed her since she appears to be pregnant. We aren't sure she is though. Now, she seems to like it here and her little eyes light up when she see's one of us. We thought of keeping her and taking her to the vet we take our other animals to. We have an outdoor 7 yr old neutered male that is not at all tolerant of this stray and he seems to really go out of his way to attack her every chance he gets. We also have an indoor small spayed dog that doesn't mind the stray being in the house. Is it such a great idea to keep her since the male is so hostile? We've brought her in the house, but she doesn't like it indoors and I don't what else to do. Please HELP!!!

In my opinion, I would take her in. She doesn't act feral and seems really comfortable with you and your husband. I brought in a feral cat last May and my old cat attacked her all the time. However, they eventually began to tolerate each other and are generally ok.

I would bring her in!
She's probably used to living outdoors, so being indoors freaks her out a little bit. But with time, she will become comfortable inside.

IME, pregnant mamas are always going to be a little nervous and may not feel 100% safe inside. But I'd wait it out, for her sake.

We were in your position three years ago. When we brought Scully home she hated our house rabbits and our resident cat, and we had to give her a quiet room where she could nest in peace. One week later, she birthed four kittens and had relaxed considerably.

I know that if we hadn't rescued Scully, she and her kittens might not be alive today. Instead, they have become beloved members of the family. Good on you for wanting to help her out
