My husband and I found out today that he is being transferred at the first of the year--this means a move is in store.

We have had Jack for 7 weeks and he is about 4 and a half months old (was a stray so don't know for sure).

He is finally settling in here and now life is going to be disrupted. Is there anything we need to do, to prepare him for this big change?

Jack is a very personable cat, loving, smart and active. He does have the appearance of a maine coon, siberian, norwegian forest cat and possesses many of the characteristics of those cats. Including a love for water and a great ability to play fetch (today he retrieved the mouse 15 times in a row).

Thanks for the help

I would start getting him used to the car. First just letting him sit in the car while it's off. Then turning the car on but not going anywhere. Then for short small rides.

He has been in the car to go to the vet--which is a 45 minute drive (which is how far the move is).

He doesn't mind the carrier at all.
