Is the christmas tree poisonous if a cat eats the pines?
I've been a bit worried since I'm not sure. I know alot of holiday plants are poisonous, but would the tree be toxic?

Thanks

I think to some extent - that's why they say don't let them drink the pine tree water - maybe its the sap or something.

No, pine trees are not poisonous, at least from the research Ive done.

The reason they are not to drink the water is because it is dirty.
All types of ghiardia and other protozoans could be living in that nasty stale crap.

I also doubt he would find the pine tasty, but if he did he should not be in any danger.

Oh, thanks. I just wanted to know because my cat was sniffing it and I wondered if it was poisonous since I know alot of holida plants are poisonous. I'll be sure to keep her away from the water now as well!

I use one of those tree skirts kept tightly around the tree, that way the water is not reachable... course this makes it harder to refill, but oh well.

Poinsettia although slightly toxic, are not considered anything more than an irritant.
I wouldnt recommend letting your cat eat it, but if you have it around the house I wouldnt be super worried either.
