Famous/Infamous Persons Where You Live?

How did I forget I live in the home town of Notre Dame! Fighting Irish... which means the entire cast of "Rudy" was here for filming. Knute Rockne is a phuedo relative. Are you ready for this... He's my brother's god-mother's uncle! Or, my god-father's uncle-in-law if such a thing exists!

Oh I forgot a famous Pro Basketball Coach went to High School here.
I can't for the life of me remember his name, all I know is that he was the coach for the Chicago Bulls at one time...might even still be.

The most notorious people of the area in which I grew up in are Paul Bernardo and Carla Holmoka.

My DH had an infamous person in the neighborhood where he grew up: John Wayne Gacy. He would offer teen age boys jobs to entice them into his home where he murdered him. My DH was working in a convenience store where Gacy would frequent. One day he offered my DH a job and asked him over to his house to talk about it. We are both ecstatic that he declined that offer!! Sometimes things hit a little too close to home.....

Dan Tana (Robert Urich) and Michael Landon had cottages near me when they were alive. Same with Dan Akroyd. I'm related to Robbie Bourne (you have to be a hockey fan in Canada to know him).

You and me both! Years later when the serial killer documentaries started including him, we had to turn them off. Can't deal with the thought for very long.

Forgot to mention, the doctor that delivered me is the uncle to singer/songwriter Richard Marx.

Don Henley, of the Eagles was born and raised in the town that is ten miles, from my house! I saw him in Wal-Mart one New Years Eve! I also saw him
perform a benefit concert there in Linden, to help restore the Music City Texas Concert Theater which he is backing!
Ellen DeGeneres, spend the night at our house, whenever she and my sister were Jrs. in High School, Ellen's parents and my parents were friends, she and Debbie were the same age. They graduated High School together, don't know if anyone saw her reunion show or not, she flew whoever wanted to
come from the Atlanta High School, graduating class of 1976, out to LA, and be on the show for their reunion, my sister was one of the ones that was sitting beside her, and told of a funny story which they experienced back in the day! No my sister is not gay, at that time I believe Ellen knew it, but heck she dated one of the best lookin guys in town!
Another singer, Country and Western, his name is Tracy Lawerence, he is
from Forman, Ark.
And last but not least, President Bill Clinton, is from Hope, Ark. which is
about 45 minutes from where I live!! I'm so impressed!

Finger Eleven and Silverstein are both bands with members who grew up here. My BF went to school with Sarah Harmer.

There are others, but I don't feel like typing anymore...

Well, there are some people directly from the area that are famous. (Even though we live in a very small town!)

Harry Morgan - From M.A.S.H.

Graduated from one of our local schools.

Iggy Pop - Singer (Also known as James Newell Osterberg, Jr.)

Was born here.

And our most famous and closest fellow!!!
Buster Keaton - Actor

Had a summer house darn near on the land our house is on. The Vaudeville Colony was right here as well! Very neat for my husband who is big on the history of our area!

Those are a couple from right here, we have a TON from the Detroit side of the state as Motown was so huge!!!

One name that isn't on the list is Peter Frampton. He lives in a suburb of Cincinnati, his current wife is from here.

I live about 45 minutes from where Ryan Philippe grew up. I'm also from the same town Annette Funicello (sp?) was born in. My Aunt used to live down the street from her Aunt.

Oh, and I just remembered another! Not sure if he still lives around here, but Jerry Mathers used to live in our town when I was little. I remember a friend of mine was good friends with his kid(s).

i am told we have several cleveland indians and browns players living in my area. I would not know, i doubt i would know who they are if i saw them in the store.

No one famous or infamous ever lived around here or near here. Boring small town.

I don't think that anyone famous lives here persay, but rather has a house here
I know of two definitely near me: Bruce Springstein (he's from a twp about an hour from where I live and has a house 15-20 minutes from where I live) and Jon Bon Jovi. I'm sure there are more, I just don't know how.

In Michigan: Mindy (from Mork & Mindy) graduated from a high school in my home town and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spanno Saved by the Bell) went to the same high school for two years (even have her pic in my sister's year books).
Kid Rock and Eminem had houses about 20 minutes from where I lived. Chris Chelios (Red Wings) is always out and about...use to be at one bar in particular, but I always missed him.
