thank you everyone...

I'm having Shawn (my BF) call them today. They are not a shelter but rather a collective of foster homes around the bay area. I will have him talk to them because there is just no way I could do it without crying or screaming or both.

My heart hurts and I would not wish this on anyone, they need to know that their babies may not be healthy so as to avoid more of these situations.

as awful as it sounds though, after talking with Glitch I think I am gonna go ahead and bring some more loving kitties into my home for the holidays. It would be a nice Christmas for myself and for some kitties in need of saving I think...

I'm glad your boyfriend will contact the collective - whatever steps can be taken, should be taken to avoid more heartbreak and suffering by both the animals and their parents.

I can only imagine how you're feeling now - last night I sat and cried thinking about your losses, and my cats came up wondering what was wrong and why I hugged them so hard. But you have such a wonderful heart and are so full of love, I can only think that Chloe and Berach were sent to you to have some happiness on this earth before they had to leave, and that there are other babies who can help heal the emptiness you feel.

I don't think that sounds awful at all. It sounds like you are a very good person. And, again, I'm SO sorry...

That does not sound awful at all. We got Tabitha only a few days after Oliver Felix passed away. It just wasn't the same without an extra kitty around, and she really needed a home. I think it's wonderful that you are going to open your home to kitties in need!

I'm feeling a little better, thank you for asking. I stayed home from work today and I haven't yet brought myself to get rid of their boxes or put away their toys and I can't even bury Berach in the garden yet because it is storming outside...

I'll get there...

I am starting to think we should have an FIP support group!! Its hard to imagine losing two so close together... I had such trouble losing more than one in a couple of months!

Saya, I just joined today and I have to say your story made me cry. I am so sorry for your loss. My cat was stolen six weeks ago and after all efforts to get him back I am sad to say we won't. On a small level I know how you are feeling. I am looking to get a new cat to bring up my spirits, I hope you are able to give some new cats a good home. God bless you and your little ones.

thank you. I can only imagine how this story must touch others that love kitties as much as I do.
This truly is a nightmare for any meowmy

OMG Saya, I am so, so sorry.
I can't even begin to imagine just how you must feel.
First Chloe, now Berach.
I don't even know what to say: I'm crying just reading your sad news.

I agree with those who stated that you should contact someone to report the place that gave you 2 sick furbabies. They need to be shut down before someone else has to suffer like you and your furbabies have!

I also don't think it's horrible of you to want to adopt some other poor, homeless furbabies.
Whenever I've lost any of my furbabies, I adopted another one and gave it a good home. It didn't erase the love & pain I felt towards the ones I lost, and the new furbabies didn't "take their place", but it helped ease the hurt a little by taking my mind off my grief, and I felt better knowing that I was giving another possibly potential homeless furbaby a good & loving home.
There are plenty of furbabies out there who could use your loving & caring nature, too..

I'm so sorry, Saya. I'm here if you need to talk...

RIP, Chloe & Berach.
You're together again, and your Meowmy loves you.

I'm soooo sorry for your loss... I even started crying when I read this. I had been following your other kitties story... I can't believe they both got it. I can only imagine what you are going through. Just know you are in my prayers. Lots of healing vibes for you.... I just wish I could do more for you then tell you how sorry I am about your babies....

Just be aware that it is recommended you wait at least a couple of months before bringing a new cat in the home. Otherwise the new cat can get it as well. I'm not saying don't adopt, I just dont want you to have to go though this again....

Your in my thoughts...

Shorty's right: I don't know why I didn't think of that myself.

There is a way to disinfect your home though, before you bring any new furbabies in to it. I had an article about that somewhere: I'll try to find it and if I do, I'll post it. Otherwise, I think that Glitch may have some info on it b/c she just went through it herself..

according to the vet the chances of passing the virus along are pretty much nil, but I have already completely disinfected my home and everything inside it, twice.
It will be done again before new kittens enter my home.
FIP itself is not contagious, only the coronavirus is, something that the kittens where most likely exposed to before they ever entered my home.

thank you everyone...
