messy clump-poop still stuck on kitty

I followed the advice posted on this forum to give my long-haired kitty a sanitary trim (or as I like to call it, a butt cut) to help reduce poop stuck on him. Thank you to everyone who's opined
.

Also, I switched him to a hug litter box over the weekend (22" x 18" x 18") to give him more room to do his thing.

This morning, I found him with poop-clump stuck on one of his hind leg (now, the other one) again! I think he feels a bit ashamed by this as I can see the weird expression on his face when I picked him up and cleaned him (oh, the smell
). Poor little man! Plus, the clump-poop he drags around the house is taking me forever to track and clean.

Question: is he going to grow of this this phase?

Question: should I trim the hair behind his legs also? This would seem odd, but I'm up for anything at this point.

Help, help, help...

You are doing a great job by trying everything to help your kitty with his poo sticking problem.

We have to do a booty shave to our cat Snowball. We do the whole back end, legs too, at least get the long hairs off so the poo doesn't stick. We have a pack of baby wipes just in case he needs them.

Hopefully your kitty doesn't get poo stuck to him anymore

I'm sure we've asked this before, but is his poo very soft/sticky? Healthy cat poo is usually firm and (forgive me) looks like a tootsie roll

Stan gets his regular butt cut and it helps with all but the sticky (or runny) poos.

solid hard, as far as I can tell. None of the sticky, gooey stuff for a while (thank goodness).

ok. I'll try the leg cut later this weekend and will come back later with an update.

thanks, y'all

Yeah, I'd have them go down the legs with the shave. And your cat could possibly grow out of if. The only concern I have is if it is runny or loose and there is something else going on.

Well if it's solid maybe your kitty just sat funny and landed in the poop instead of walking straight off and covering it
