However, I cannot STAND that song......

There are may stupid songs at christmas but hey its all the fun of it

This song was actually a fundraiser for the Oklahoma City Zoo back in the 1950's. The proceeds from the song and other donations because of the song purchased a hippo for the Zoo. This was the only song she ever recorded. I don't really think of it as Christmas Song.

There is a jewelry store in OKC that has had the same jingle for decades. They get regular people to sing it for the commercials. It's become a game to see who is the first in your family to hear it each year. I sent a link to the song to my sister and some friends - we laughed, we cried and we consider it a Christmas tradition - weird, huh?
