There's a game which states that every actor out there can be connected to Kevin Bacon in six degrees or less.

But did you know that this can apply to regular folks like you and me?

In fact, I can be connected to Kevin Bacon in just four steps!

1. I performed in a local play with a friend named Erik Rodenheiser.

2. Erik has an SAG card and was in HOUSE SITTERS with Goldie Hawn.

3. Goldie Hawn and Sarah Jessica Parker were in FIRST WIVES CLUB.

4. Sarah Jessica Parker and Kevin Bacon were in FOOTLOOSE!

Ta-da! I'm connected to Kevin Bacon in 4 steps!

How about you guys?

Mine doesn't count, I live just 5 minutes from Lehi Utah, where Footloose was filmed.

Well...

1. I helped a rotten guy who shall remain nameless with his master's thesis, which was a film script.

2. That guy went to Hollywood and got a job on Brett Butler's show, "Grace Under Fire."

3. Brett Butler... well, drat, I don't much like her so I don't keep up with her career, and I have no idea whether she knows Kevin Bacon.

Hmph. Let's try again:

1. My former Significant Other, who is also my best friend, is the son of a man who was a medium-market news anchor during the "Golden Age of Television" and eventually managed TV stations before he retired.

2. The best man at the wedding of my friend's parents was Gordon Jump, who was just wonderful as Mr. Carlson on WKRP in Cincinnati and, in later years, became the Maytag Repairman.

3. Well, that gets me to Howard Hesseman, which is even better than Kevin Bacon in my book!
But let's see... Loni Anderson played the receptionist on WKRP...

4. And Loni was married to Burt Reynolds...

5. And Burt Reynolds...

Uhoh. I'm lost.

Ummm...

1. I once worked as a volunteer for Carl Sagan during a scientific conference in Austin...

2. Carl Sagan wrote one brilliant novel, Contact, which was made into a movie with Jodie Foster...

3. Jodie Foster was the twisted fascination of John Hinckley, who tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan...

4. John Hinckley was trying to follow in the footsteps of (if you believe the Warren Commission, which I don't) Lee Harvey Oswald...

5. Lee Harvey Oswald was portrayed by Gary Oldman in the film JFK...

6. In which Kevin Bacon appeared!

Okay, so #4 is a bit of a stretch...

I can do it in just 2:

1. I used to compete on speech team, and one of my regular competitors was Jamie Gertz.

2. Jamie Gertz was with Kevin Bacon in Twister.

Four degrees for me, too.

My friend plays in a band with Ed Burns.
Ed Burns was in 'Ash Wednesday' with Oliver Platt.
Oliver Platt was in 'Loverboy' with Kevin Bacon.

My husband took astronomy 101 from Carl Sagan at Cornell "billions and billions" of years before the movie Contact with Jodie Foster. Are there 6 degrees of separation in the universe?

Omg this is harder than i thought!!

A local Aussie comedy called 'Sit down, Shut up' was being filmed at my high school when i was 16. One of the people in that show was Stephen Curry, who i shook hands with when he needed directions to the toilet

He was in the mini-series 'Changi' along with Matt Newton.

Matt Newton was in 'Queen of the Damned' with Stuart Townsend

Stuart and Charlize Theron were both in a movie called 'Trapped' with..Kevin Bacon!!

4!!! WEEEEE!!!

I've lived a very isolated life....in Michigan. It's gotta be at least 600 degrees of seperation to Kevin Bacon for me.

I work with a guy named Kevin.
I like to eat bacon on my cheeseburgers.
There ya go!

I used to play in a regular poker game once a week...most of the players were unknown actors. The year before I joined, one of the regulars was a then-unknown actor named David Schwimmer (1 & 2)...it would have been a 1 if I had actually met him, which I didn't.

David Schwimmer of course was one of the stars of TV's "Friends". Julia Roberts guest-starred in a two-part episode. (3)

Julia Roberts starred in "Flatliners" with Kevin Bacon (4)

So that's 4 steps to Kevin Bacon. But it's way cooler that I'm only 3 steps from Julia Roberts!
