How do you clean petroleum jelly off a car?

Some stupid jerk put a huge glob of petroleum jelly under my car handle so when I would open it I would get on my fingers. God, I have no idea why anyone would think this is funny. I'm just so upset. I didn't need this. Why would anyone do this. Apparently one of my bosses thought it was funny. He didn't do it, but he laughed when I came back into work to wash my hands. I hate people; I hate this town.

I know some of you on here are mechanics, so maybe you've dealt with this. How can I clean the rest of it off. I took the majority off of it with a paper towel. One of my buttons popped off when I was reaching to get the roll of paper towels I keep in my car; so now I've lost a button. Seriously, why woyuld anyone be so horrible. It's not funny; god, I don't know what to do. I'm just so upset; and I don't have anyone to help me in this horrible town.

Greased Lightning spray, or Simple Green or Dawn dish soap? Those are all pretty good.

Are there any security tapes of the parking lot where it occurred? You might be able to find out who boobytrapped your car by looking at the tapes. I'd contact the police and get a police report made up. Vandalism is a punishable offence, isn't it? Your boss sounds like a rather childish individual, to laugh at another persons misfortune.

Dish Soap and water. Something like Dawn that cuts into grease would work well.

I can't stand childish games like that either.

My senior year of high school I had a friend who thought it would be a great laugh to push her car into mine so I would feel it when I was inside my car. I was and she thought I was a jerk because my car was a piece of crap. It was MY car and I was the one who had to drive it. It didn't do much damage, but there was a dent. I was just so mad! Why would someone do that!!!!!! I deffinitely know how you feel
