Does Revolution work for ticks??

I was wanting Frontline to put on Riley before we go on our trip next week, because my mom has 2 indoor/outdoor cats and I'm paranoid about him getting a tick and contracting a disease like my Alley died from.

A fried at the rescue gave me a couple tubes but when I got home I realized it was Revolution instead of Frontline. Will this still work, or do I need to try to get some Frontline from the vet instead?

Everything I could find about Revolution just says 'fleas, earmites, heartworm and American dog ticks.' It doesn't specifically say ticks. If you're really worried about ticks, I'd go ahead and get the Frontline Plus.

Have you called your vet's office to find out about Revolution? That would be my first move since they probably know more than we do about medications.
