I think it's a good idea, and I think it should be 30 seconds for everybody, paying or not. Other boards' flood control is less. On one it's 30 seconds. On another it's even turned off. I think the main reason for the delay is to foil spammers. And with the security codes often used for new registration to keep out the bots, I don't think long delays are really all that necessary for those reasons anymore.

So, maybe what you guys should be asking for is to TURN OFF the delay for subscribers, and set it to 30 seconds for everyone else.

It's a good suggestion but I don't think that will fly. It's not just spammers. And it really slows down the boards when you have one as busy as this one is. I dunno...

OR...... maybe less restrictions for Mods, advisors and mentors!

Everyone always forgets us sig helpers

It is set a lot lower on other boards, but I have also seen the mess mods have to clean up when it is.

I think the limit on characters per post would help a little on the really short posts to get post count / points up.

Well my goodness... I didn't mean to leave out the Sig helpers. I just include everyone (in my feeble mind) in those three groups.

Yes, I've seen on this site, what a mess it creates when limits are turned off. That's why I thought if it were limited as another benefit to paying subscribers, it would help. And it may bring in a few new paying subscribers. It was just an idea to throw out there!

I just switched it to 30 seconds for all. It's actually not a variable that can be edited per usergroup btw, so can't be modified for paying members separately, or I would have changed it to zero for paying members.

We'll run it with 30 seconds for a while and see how the server handles that.

Thanks for all the feedback - please do keep those suggestions coming, they're the best way to help make this place even better!

It was everyone chiming in and discussing it! (Not just me). But I'm really happy about it!
It's like an early Christmas present!

I would like it! I'm one of those people that have more than one window open. I often have to wait for that dang "you can't post more than every 60 seconds....... you have 20 seconds left.......... 6 seconds.......... 1 second........ ok now you can post! Thanks for waiting!"

However, no I would not pay extra for that. I'm college student!

Edit: Oh sweet! Thanks Mods!!!!!

I must be the slowest typer in the world, I have never had the problem of having to wait
plus I can't handle multiple windows, it's bad enough when I have a PM window and a regular forum window open

I do the multitab thing too,

I thik the 30sec thing would be good, especially for the likes of Fur Pics where you don't end to say much and go straight to the next one.

It wouldn't jut be good for fast typers but for quick internet too, as the pages submits much quicker.
