I have to ask about this. We noticed one day while playing with the laser pointer that when we shine it onto the ceiling Skye makes this sound. It's not a meow it's like this clicking sound. Um if any of you have seen the movie Predator it's the similar sound. Why is she making that sound?

That's exactly what it is - the sound of a predator! Our kitties also sit in the window and chatter at the birds - and when they get really into play, they'll chatter, hiss, growl and "click" at whatever it is they're attacking - or, in the case of the laser pointer, trying to attack.

It's called chattering, and domestic cats do this when in hunting mode. Can be in respone to prey, a sound outside, even sudden movement of a light.

Mia is always saying "eh" I have no idea what it means and she does it at different times so I can't figure if it means, i want food or water, please scoop me, I want to be in your lap, I lost my jingle balls etc. Mia talks so much and says so much i can't figure any of it out.

Miles and Nymeria both make clicking and cooing sounds when they see the birds outside. 'meria also coos when she wants some snuggling. Min is fairly quiet she squeaks on occasion, and though she meows a lot no sound comes out at all, the woman at the shelter said she does a silent meow.

I don't think I've ever heard Popsie chirp but when something outside peaks his interest he'll start making that mrrrrp sound over and over. It's cute.
