here's a question from capt jordi:

Favorite song lyric or quote?

Mine is from an Erykah Badu song, "the man that knows nothing knows that he knows nothing at all"

My favorite is:

I've learned that goodbyes will always hurt, pictures never replace having been there, memories good or bad, will bring tears and words can never replace those feelings

My favorite song/lyrics is the song "Faithfully" by Journey. I'm also a big fan of "Hallelujah", especially Rufus Wainwright's version.

New Morning
Nick Cave

Thank you for giving
This bright new morning
So steeped seemed the evening
In darkness and blood
There'll be no sadness
There'll be no sorrow
There'll be no road too narrow
There'll be a new day
And it's today
For us

I Let Love In
Nick Cave

Despair and Deception, Love's ugly little twins
Came a-knocking on my door, I let them in
Darling, you're the punishment for all of my former sins

I let love in
I let love in

The door it opened just a crack, but Love was shrewed and bold
My life flashed before my eyes, it was a horror to behold
A life-sentence sweeping confetti from the floor of a concrete hole

I let love in
I let love in

Hmm... favorite song lyric... I love Dave Matthews... all his stuff speaks to me in some way but my fall back favorite is Ani DiFranco. Can't think of the song title but the lyric is "I know there is strenght in the differences between us, I know there is comfort where we overlap."

And my 3 favorite quotes are as follows...

Shakespeare's Sonet 116, the last stanza specifically...
"Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved."

The inscription in my engagement ring "2 fluttering hearts united 4 infinity"

& the inscription I had put in my husband's ring from a sci-fi/fantasy book "Love is most valuable when it's a struggle to achieve"

"If I Could Change The World" by Eric Clapton!

I've loved that song since I was a little girl!

And quote:

"Today is yesterday's tomorrow"

Butzie' favorite song is "Only the Good Die Young" by Billy Joel.

My favorite is a Shakespeare quote, too, from Sonnet 73, "That time in me..;"

"This thou perceivest, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long."

Sting has one line that he has stuck into numerous Police songs and into his solo work and I think it is cool - "It's a big enough umbrella, but it's always me that ends up getting wet". I also love the lyrics to "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel.

Actually I love Carrie Underwood's So Small

*Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand
What you've been up there searching for
forever is in your hands
When you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
seem so small*
