My personal favourites are

"They misunderestimated me"
"My job is a decision-making job, and as a result, I make a lot of decisions."
"Amnesty means that you've got to pay a price for having been here illegally, and this bill does that."

"The best thing about my family is my wife. She is a great first lady. I know that sounds not very objective, but that's how I feel. And she's also patient. Putting up with me requires a lot of patience." (yes, we know)

Now that last quote could have come from MY husband.

I'm really surprised that he hasn't fired most of his speech writers. It seems that after his first two years in office he *gasp* made sense when he spoke.

Lately he seems to have rehired that first speech writer...cause if you can produce a 365 day calendar with "Bushisms" for 7 years in a row, there's a problem.

I really wonder somedays if he looks at videos of his speeches and says "Now why the heck did I say that??"

I think comedian Bill Burr quotes Bush the best!

But's it's not all just speeches. A lot of these are things he's just said in conversation, interviews or when asked simple questions!

Oops..my bad.

I haven't heard him talk in a good many years (other than what gets reported in the news). I like my IQ points and don't want to jeopardize them

Do you remember the big gaffe with the Hezbollah comment? His mic was still on and he didn't realise? Talk about showing your true colours...

and then there's Rumsfeld....

2003
Former United States Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld for comments in a press briefing. "Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know."

Have you seen the Boondocks? They do a whole thing on his unknown unknown speech and bring it up often.

My husband and I tell each other all the time, "Well, that's an unknown unknown!"

About as embarrassing as his going on and on about morals on a sitcom. What was the show? Murphy Brown?

I still think that the best quote ever has to be

"most of Americas imports now come from foreign countries" Uhm.... where were the imports coming from before then?

This is true. And I am always reminded by something Bono said in an interview once - that George Bush was - against all expectations - one of the funniest men he'd ever met. A truly incisive, cunning wit. It's a pity we don't get to see that more often - it might redeem him just a little. And I do mean a little.
