I recently posted about Oliver's stool firming up. We went to the vet and did not find any worms or abnormalities in his stool. He went on antibiotics, ate special food, and was doing 100% better.
It's been two weeks and we are back to square one. His stool is loose and smelly and he has bad gas. He's been eating the same food for over a month now, and we monitor his feeding to make sure he doesn't eat the other cat's food. He's eating ByNature dry kitten food, but he can't even handle that. I thought that this food would help because it doesn't have any of the normal allergens. Before visiting the vet, I also tried adding pumpkin to his food, but that didn't help either.
When he was on the prescription wet food from the vet, he seemed to digest that very well. So the next avenue I am going to take in trying to firm up his stool is buying him sensitive stomach/easy to digest food.
Does anyone have suggestions on high quality food of this sort that is VERY gentle on the stomach? If it's not available in Petsmart or Petco, where can I get it? Thanks!
