1. What is your job title/position?
I am a Veterinary Assistant

2. What are your job responsibilities?
I assist with the medical treatments of animals. I run bloodwork, fecal tests, ear cytologies, ear mite check, heartworm tests, FeLV/FIV tests. I restrain animals for the vets and vet techs, give fluids and other injections, montitor hospitalized animals. I guess its like being a animal nurse.

3.How does your position relate to my topic of how cats react to certain bird sounds?
Not sure about that one... I know my cats like to watch the TV when there are birds on it and the sounds get thier attention.

4. What type of education is necessary for a position of this field?
Veterinary assistants are mostly on the job trained. They do have some classes you can attend but its mostly a learn as you go thing. Vet techs do go to school for what they do. It is a 2 year program.

5. Do you think scientific research is important? Why or why not?
Reasearch is almost always helpful. I dont believe in testing on animals, but I do think furthering are knowledge can improve our everday lives.

6. What are cats instincts?
I guess... Self-preservation, hunting, mating, playing... just like most animals

7. Do cats like to hunt?
Yes... House cats are the only known type of cat that will kill for fun.

8. Are cats territorial?
I think it depends on the cat. My cat Pheelicks is very accepting of other cats, while my cat Jennifer would rather bop them on the head and hiss.
