I've heard that you need to try to keep your cats on a feeding schedule.

Red weighed in at 5.4lbs at our last visit to the vet, which according to the Iams bag, he should be eating about 1 1/4 cups of food daily. Lately, I'm lucky if I can get him to eat 3/4 of a cup. I put out about 1/3 cups of the food down in the morning and he eats a little bit of it, then walks away and comes back throughout the day. When it's empty, I refill again, and by the following morning, it's empty.

I was just hoping to see if you had any tips on how to get them onto a better schedule, or if this is ok.

I never really go by what the bag says. Cause cats are different in boning/size. I think the recommended amounts are for the average cats.

What kind of Iams are you using. Mine didn't like the Hairball or the Light ones. Maybe switch to Nutra Max or Royal Canin, or Natural Balance.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe he was getting bored with his food, so I'm going to buy a small bag of something different to see if he likes that better.
