this is probably a hard question to answer, but what can i do now to make sure Bryne doesn't have health problems in the future?

i know that not everything can be controlled, but i was just wondering if anyone has food tips or bathing tips.. anything that will ensure she lives a happy, healthy and long life. right now i dont bathe bryne. i haven't even attempted it since i got her, but i do use bath wipes. is this something i should increase that might benefit her in the future?

thanks in advance for all the in deep thinking!

*edit* do hartz flea and tick collars cause future neurological problems? i was reading the page on "disabled cats" and someone mentioned that they have a cat who was dropped off with hartz flea and tick gel on it that caused neurological problems the previous owners couldnt pay for. i buy bryne hartz flea and tick collars, so i just want to make sure they aren't damaging her body in anyway, if they are does anyone know a better brand of flea and tick collars? or flea and tick gel? my parents use the flea and tick gel on our dogs so i would want to tell them about this too.

thanks again

Make sure she sees the vet for a check up once a yr with bloodwork

Feed her the most premium food that shell eat ... try to make sure to feed some canned daily... what is premium varies person to person but a search on here will give you LOADS of thought s and info

Keep her litter box clean and notice what "normal " contents look like

Brush and feel her weekly

Many people feel that flea collars are harmful to cats. Do a search of the site, and you'll probably find plenty of info on it!

thank you for the information. does anyone have a website where i can find sited information about the dangers of flea collars? i have a hard time convincing my partner about things that i read her from this site. i really want her to understand, but i feel like she needs to see information from some source. i'm going to look on advantage and frontline sites, since i saw a lot of info about those flea and tick preventatives in other forums on here.

thanks again.

The best products for flea control are the spot on types, such as Advantage, Frontline, and Revolution, all available from your vet. Absolutely DO NOT use collars containing Amitraz, permethrin, or organophosphates on cats. These drugs/compounds are toxic to cats. If you need to find information for your SO, do a Google search using "permethrins and cats" as your search key words.
