Our new kitten (16wks) leaves little poop balls all around the house. It happens when she is sleeping or relaxed and also when she is playing. They seem involuntary and otherwise she is very clean and uses the box at all times. She is embarassed to see this happen and tries to bury them in the furniture or where ever they drop. Has anyone experienced this or know what it is caused by? I cannot find anything on the internet about this???
Thx.

Thank you for your reply. I have an appointment for her but last time I took her in the vet didn't seem to know what it was either. I have had her dewormed twice now in case that's the cause?

Have you seen her actually poop them--or is it more of a hygiene thing where some poop is getting left on her backside (in the hair) and as she moves through the house they are falling off?

It seems to be just a little round poop but she does not seem aware of it. It is usually when she is resting or sleeping or when she is playing and busy otherwise. They are very small little round balls. Not an actual focused poop. She does a regular job in her box each day.

I find those occasionally - they are usually "will-nots" (will not drop off in the litterbox but free up as soon as they cats are away from the litter box).

Not sure if that is your case, but it sounds possible.

Popsie gets those. He purposely wipes his "will nots" on the carpet. YUK

I read this post last night and laughed till my side hurt...."will not's"

And low and behold......I have never seen one here and Callie left one today on the floor
......and Baloo (5 months old and full of it and never looks before he leaps) acted like he was going to play with it just before I went to clean it up and I let him go up to it and he sniffed and took off like a shot.....so funny!
