Sometimes when I go to pet Popsie on his head he'll shake it without me even touching him yet.
Anyone have a clue as to why he does this.

My Ginger will shake her head at me as an invitation to play.

I took my Magic in once because his head shaking had me concerned he might have a problem. There was no dirt or ear mites, everything looked fine to the vet.
She suggested using just a dab of cortisone salve on my finger tip to gently rub into ear to soothe itchiness.

Now that I think about it my doc told me to do the same thing when I asked him to see if I had something in my ear.

My doc said explained how the nerves in the ears react to all kinds of things and just might get a little twitchy sometimes. (I actually don't really remember his description, but it seemed to amount to that.

One thing I do remember is being told only on the tip of your finger and NO Q-Tips! :-)

I guess if it were me, I would take Popsie in for a check to be sure there was no mites or dirt and ask what the vet suggests in the absence of any visible problems.
