I'm sorry I just have to vent.

Since the end of September, I have spent closed to $1700 in vet bills. Everyone but Luna has been sick.

B just told me that Patches has a runny nose. She's been sneezing on and off the last week. He also mentioned her snoring, but she always snores..so I ignored it.

I really can't afford to take any of the cats back to the vet. By the end of this year I'm in a lot of credit card debt.
I've never been this bad with my credit cards and I just want to get them paid off...not add to them!

Oh no, I hope its nothing! Bay had a runny nose & was sneezing for a few days too, and it cleared right up without having to take him to the vet, after about 2 days.
I'll send some vibes your way that its nothing serious

What medicine did they give you for the symptoms? Did the vet diagnose them as having an upper respiratory infection? Sometimes things like clavamox, amoxi, and clindi drops don't work so well. You may want to ask your vet about giving them Doxycycline. We had a massive URI problem at our shelter not too long ago. We tried medication after medication on the cats but nothing worked.

We noticed however that the Doxycycline was clearing up ALL of the URI symptoms in the dogs....so we talked to the vet. She said we could start using it on the cats. We give them a half of a 100mg Doxycycline tablet in their soft food 1-2 times a day (depending on the kitty). I can not possibly tell you how much it has helped!!!!!!!!!
It has completly knocked out the majority of the URI symptoms in our kitties! It may be worth asking about for yours!
(it's not too pricy eithor!)

Thanks for the suggestion Nikki...yes all of our cats were on Clavamox. Beauty was switched off during her time in the animal hospital...probably to that Doloxmamamam...the stuff you used.

We also need to address the windows around here. At night this house gets super cold and somewhere downstairs I feel a breeze.

She doesn't seem snotty today (for some reason only B sees all the drama...either I'm denying it all or he's exaggerating....
)

Then again I just basically attacked all 4 with no-water shampoo. I'm trying to get Patches to stop hissing at Beauty. Maybe the Jasmine/Cherry Bark scent cleared things up

I feel for ya!
I hate to think just how much we've spent in the last year alone, due to Winchester & Geronimo's FIP - not too mention all the other problems we've had!
And next week Geronimo goes in to get "fixed" (I had to sell a piece of jewelry to pay for that!
). But he's worth it..

I hope your furbabies get better soon, and that your circumstances improve..

No problem!
I'm only a pm away if you need anything! Many places won't use Doxycycline for cats as standard procedure- so she may have been switched onto something else. Do you know what it was? You really have to ask for the Doxycycline. It REALLY helps though- the results are amazing with kitties and doxy when it comes to URI at our shelter!

I hope they start to feel better soon!
