I live in the Durham / Chapel Hill / Southpoint area of NC.

Can anyone recommend a good cat rescue organization here that I could possibly volunteer my time for? I've been wanting to do this for some time now and since we (Husband and myself) are finally settled in up here in NC I figure it's a good as time as any to do it.

Why don't you put in your zip code on Petfinder & see what shelters/rescues come up?

Then go ahead & contact them to see what they need for volunteers & what the process is!

Good idea =) Just wanted to check to see if anyone here perhaps had "ins" already in this area.

Yeah, shop around. I had a couple of unpleasant experiences with the people until I found the group I am with now. Some people in animal rescue unfortunately do not have good people/human skills.

Many people can not foster for various reasons.

After fostering (and adopting) Autumn, I probably wouldn't do it again until we had a much bigger place, the idea of another cat in the house really upset my boys.
