Good day all;

New to this site and am hoping for advise. I am a 'mum' of Willie (yes, female) 15 years old, Kiki (3 years old) who is now the mother of Jack (1 month old). Sadly, she only had a little of 2 and one passed

My question is: I work out of the home full time. When reading when and what to feed a kitten during and once weaned, no matter where I go, it states from 3 to 5 times a day that this wee fluff ball has to be fed. How on earth am I to do that???

Any suggestions? My other two mews came to me once grown, so this is the first nanamew experience for me.

Thanks
me =^..^=

I would suggest leaving out a bowl of dry food for the kitten to snack on throughout the day. A whole bowl full will last all day. I assume mum and baby are in their own room? If yes then the others shouldn't get it. The baby is still getting a huge amount of their food from their mum at that age anyway. My two are around 3.5months and my partner and I work all day most days. I give them wet in the morning, and a bowl of ry each for the day. When I get home round 6pm, I give them more wet, and then a smaller amount of wet again before I go to bed.

It can be done. There doesn't have to be set times. Just make sure food and water is available to the baby while you are out. If you are keeping this kitten, then it is likely to nurse off mum for quite a while, until she is spayed and her milk dries up, although the milk doesn't always dry up straight away if the kitten is still nursing regularly.

I agree, the mom is still nursing the baby and they should be in a completely seperate room from the older cat. The momma can baby can both snack on kitten food of a high quality all day long, it should be available to them at all times. But the baby is mostly nursing now so the momma will show the kitten kibble to the baby when she is good and ready to. The baby need to stay with mom until 12 weeks old but they can both also be spayed at neutered by that time. So book their appointments early!
